The company Casinos Slovakia, a.s. Bratislava, which operates a casino network, reported sales of its products and services at SKK 1.439 billion (EUR 47.77 million) in 2007, up 40 percent y/y. The company's production costs rose about SKK 33 million (EUR 1.095 million) y/y to SKK 89.9 million (EUR 2.984 million). The company generated added value of SKK 1.35 billion (EUR 44.81 million), up 40 percent as well. Casinos Slovakia recorded players `deposits at SKK 1.436 billion (EUR 47.67 million) last year and paid out wins of SKK 1.118 billion (EUR 37.11 million).
These figures were never higher in the history of the company, said the chairman of the board of directors Jozef Stehlik. He noted that these record results were reflected in the sum of the profit that increased by over SKK 3 million (EUR 99,580) compared with 2006 and more than SKK 13 million (EUR 431,500) from the year 2005. The company posted a net profit of SKK 37.5 million (EUR 1.245 million) last year.
The company's balance sheet total reached SKK 156.9 million (EUR 5.205 million) at the end of last December, with fixed assets of SKK 82.3 million (EUR 2.732 million). Shareholders' equity stood at SKK 118 million (EUR 3.917 million) on liabilities totaling SKK 38.7 million (1.285 million). Short-term liabilities amounted to SKK 34.5 million (EUR 1.145 million).
Casinos Slovakia, a.s. was established in December 1990. It operates three casinos in Bratislava, Piestany and Kosice. The majority owner of the company is Slovakia's largest lottery company, Tipos, controlling 51.32 percent. The Finance Ministry holds 100 percent of Tipos.
