Prices in Industry Grew 0.5 Percent over July

rices of industrial producers for domestic consumption rose 0.5 percent in July compared to June as a result of price rises in electricity, gas, steam and hot water by 0.9 percent, in mineral raw materials by 0.2 percent and products of manufacturing by 0.1 percent. Compared to July 2007, industrial producer prices for local market increased 6.3 percent, on the basis of higher prices of mining and quarrying by 14.2 percent, electricity, gas, steam and hot water by 11.1 percent and products of manufacturing by 2.6 percent, reported the Statistics Office on Thursday.

Prices of industrial producer products for domestic market rose 5.7 percent on average from the beginning of year and compared to the corresponding period last year, including prices of mining and quarrying 10.4 percent electricity, gas, steam and warm water 9,1 percent and products of manufacturing 3 percent.

Prices of manufacturing of coke and refined petroleum products increased 3.9 percent, manufacture n.e.c. 1.5 percent, chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibers 0.8 percent, machinery and equipment n.e.c. 0.2 percent and other non-metallic mineral products 0.1 percent. Prices of transport equipment decreased 1.8 percent, electrical and optical equipment 0.8 percent, textiles and textile products and also wood and wood products 0.4 percent, leather and leather products and also rubber and plastic products 0.2 percent. Prices of food products, beverages and tobacco and also pulp, paper and paper products and basic metal and metal products did not change.

Industrial producer prices for export increased 0.3 percent in July compared to June as a result of price rises in coke and refined crude oil products 3.9 percent, chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibers 2 percent, basic metal and metal products 0.7 percent and food products, beverages and tobacco 0.5 percent. Prices of electrical and optical equipment declined 1.9 percent, pulp, paper and paper products 1.3 percent, machinery and equipment n.e.c. 1 percent, transport equipment 0.8 percent. Prices of rubber and plastic products remained unchanged.

Export prices of industrial producers increased 2.1 percent y/y, of which prices of coke and refined crude oil products 41.9 percent, food products, beverages and tobacco 10 percent, chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibers 4 percent, basic metal and metal products 2.8 percent. Prices of transport equipment decreased 9.1 percent, electrical and optical equipment and also pulp, paper and paper products 7.2 percent, machinery and equipment n.e.c. 1.6 percent. Export prices of industrial producers increased 2.3 percent on average from the beginning of year.
