The local council of the village of Jarovnice in the Presov district plans to build an industrial park. Construction of the industrial zone should cost more than SKK 36 million (EUR 1.194 million). According to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), around 420 new jobs should be created. The industrial zone should cater to mid-sized companies involved in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, clothing production along with warehouse facilities.
The municipality wants to create new jobs mainly for the local Roma minority population. The municipality wants to start construction works in October of this year and the construction should be finished one year later. The industrial park should be situated on an area of 53,000 square meters. The municipality already has its first investor in the company MBE, s.r.o. of Kralovsky Chlmec. The company will produce car cables and passenger car accessories and electromotoric systems.
